Pearldent Dental Practice is dedicated to providing its patients with high-quality and pain-free dentistry.

Pearldent Dental Practice is dedicated to providing its patients with high-quality and pain-free dentistry. It has invested in the latest technological advances to ensure this is the case. The dentist in Stockport is a family-run surgery with over 25 years’ experience in caring for patients in the community. It offers a wide range of both NHS and cosmetic dental treatments all under one roof. The team members are caring and friendly and are always available to offer advice. Whether you are looking for a simple check-up or a dramatic improvement to your smile with a smile makeover, Pearldent in Stockport has it all.

 Cosmetic Dentistry

There are so many technological advances these days that make it easier for consumers to get dental treatments to completely transform their teeth at affordable prices. Pearldent offers a whole host of treatments, including teeth whitening, veneers, dental implants, Cerec, and Invisalign. We explore some of these treatments in more detail. Cerec Cerec technology is used to make inlays, crowns, and veneers in just one single visit to the dentist. There are many other benefits to Cerec, such as them being made from strong, durable porcelain material and it eliminates the need to take moulds, which can be a bit uncomfortable for patients. The materials used in ceramic fillings, with Cerec are metal-free and biocompatible, there is no need to have a temporary filling and the filling looks aesthetically pleasing as it is tooth-coloured.

What to Expect

  • Your dentist will provide you with a local anaesthetic to numb the area (this can be done with The Wand – the ‘painless injection.’
  • The tooth will be prepared, removing any decay, old fillings, or crowns.
  • Photos will be taken using the Cerec camera.
  • The restoration will be designed using the Cerec computer.
  • Restoration will be made using the Cerec milling machine.
  • Cement the restoration and polish.

 Cerec Facts

The Cerec procedure was developed at Zurich University and has been used successfully in dental practices for over 25 years, since 1985. It is rising in popularity and is used worldwide by more than 25,000 dental practices in over 50 countries. Long-term clinical studies have shown that the durability of Cerec restoration is at least equivalent to gold restorations and depending on the case, Cerec fillings can even achieve better results than gold, with another advantage being they are tooth-coloured so blend in beautifully with the smile.

Invisalign Invisalign is hitting the news for all the right reasons. If you want a discreet and comfortable tooth straightening treatment, then look no further. The Invisalign treatment uses a series of custom-made clear aligners which gradually move overcrowded, gappy, or crooked teeth into an improved position. The aligners are almost invisible and can be removed for eating, drinking, and cleaning your teeth. As they are custom-made, they are comfortable to wear and are perfectly fitted to your teeth and gums. You may occasionally feel a little tightening when you change to your new aligners (every 2 weeks) but this is just Invisalign working its magic.  As it is a less noticeable way to straighten teeth than the more traditional braces, it is perfect for teenagers or adults who may feel self-conscious about having orthodontic treatment.

Treatment Steps If you are eligible for the teeth straightening system, impressions and photos will be taken of your teeth. Using special 3D technology, you will receive a personalised plan, which will map out how your teeth will move, and it can even show the results to the patient before the treatment begins. Treatment times will vary, depending on how much work needs to be done. However, most cases are completed within 6-12 months. As the aligners only work whilst you are wearing them, it is recommended to wear them at least 22 hours per day for the treatment to be most successful.

Aftercare

After your treatment plan is completed, you will need to wear a retainer. This is common practice with any orthodontic treatment and stops the teeth from moving back to their former position. If you are interested in taking advantage of the Cerec technology or Invisalign or would like to receive high-quality dental treatment, please contact the friendly team on 0161 483 3408 and they will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Cheltenham & Cotswold Dental opened in January 2020 and offers a multi-disciplinary specialist and cosmetic dental practice. Its aim is to build on the success of the previous dental practice housed there. The newly created dentist in Cheltenham is conveniently situated with plenty of parking for patients. The aim of the practice is to provide a team of specialists offering advanced dental treatments with the most up to date digital technology all under one roof.

The practice is run jointly by best friends Imran Nasser and Samantha Stewart. They have been friends for two decades and their strong bond underpins the trust, co-operation, and shared ethos, which is so apparent within the dental practice. This vision is also reflected throughout the team of specialists, dentists, hygienists, dental nurses, and administration team, who all pride themselves on providing excellence and an outstanding patient journey.

Cheltenham & Cotswold Dental in Cheltenham offers a comprehensive range of dental treatments. This includes cosmetic dentistry options, such as teeth whitening and orthodontics, alongside family dentistry, children’s dentistry, sedation for nervous patients, and even facial aesthetics.

The dental practice has been expanded to include a state-of-the-art ground floor surgery. This hosts all the latest technical innovations, including a 3D CT Scanner, which can assist in the planning of more complex dental treatment cases.

Orthodontics

The three clinicians involved in teeth straightening (orthodontics) at the practice are all highly qualified specialist orthodontists. This means patients are in expert hands as the team has received additional training to deliver outstanding results, using all the available techniques and orthodontic appliances, which we explore further below:-

Invisalign – This innovative tooth straightening option transforms your smile comfortably and discreetly. A series of virtually invisible custom-made aligners are made for the patient. These are changed every few weeks and each Invisalign aligner gently moves the teeth into the desired position. With modern 3D technology, it is possible for the patient to see how their teeth will look in the final stage before treatment even begins. The aligners need to be worn for 20-22 hours per day but can be removed for cleaning teeth, eating, and drinking.

Gold Braces – Iconix TM pads are stuck to the teeth. These are contoured for maximum comfort and are smaller than standard brackets. The light gold colour is aesthetically pleasing, and the wires blend discreetly.

Clear Braces – these are less noticeable than metal brackets as it uses tooth-coloured ceramic or plastic brackets and tooth-coloured wires.

Metal Braces – these use small metal brackets, which are stuck on the front surface of the teeth. A metal wire is passed through each bracket and held in place by a little elastic. The patient can choose different colours for the elastic, which is great for children.

Incognito/Lingual Braces – this is the latest advancement in orthodontics and its gold brackets are fitted to the inside surface of your teeth, rather than the outer surface, which makes them virtually invisible. The treatment results are reliable and very effective.

Removable Braces – these are for short treatments of around six months, they are clipped onto the back teeth and are removed only for cleaning, eating, and contact sports.

Functional Braces – these are used in children who are still growing. There are two parts to the brace, one for the upper and one for the lower. They are worn for around 22 hours per day and are only removed for cleaning, eating, and contact sports.

If you are interested in any of these teeth straightening options or if you would just like an outstanding, state of the art dental practice for the entire family, then look no further.

You can contact the practice on 01242 269 498 or email them at hello@cheltenhamandcotswolddental.com where you can register and start receiving exceptional dental treatment for the entire family.

Victoria Park Dental Practice is a first-rate dentist in Glasgow.

Victoria Park Dental Practice is a first-rate dentist in Glasgow. The practice offers both NHS and private dentistry for the whole family. The highly skilled and professional team offer a comprehensive range of dental services and treatments. These range from preventive care such as oral hygiene appointments, to restorative treatments, such as dental implants and crowns. It also offers cosmetic dentistry in Glasgow, including teeth straightening, teeth whitening and dental implants to name a few.

Smilelign Invisible Braces If you have always dreamed of a straight set of pearly whites, then Victoria Park Dental Practice can help make this happen. They offer a great choice of teeth straightening options, including popular invisible braces, such as Smilelign. Known for their discreet methods, invisible braces are becoming a popular choice amongst adults who know it’s never too late to change their smile.

A series of tailor-made removable, clear, aligners are used by the patient and changed approximately every 2 weeks until the straighter smile is achieved. The powerful technology can plot the exact direction your teeth will need to move in for optimal results. Treatment time can take as little as 12 weeks.

The aligners are slimline and comfortable, and they can be removed for eating, drinking and to practice good oral hygiene.

Veneers Dental veneers are a great solution if you have stains, cracked, chipped teeth or mis-shapen teeth. They can also be used to cover gaps in the teeth where orthodontic treatment would not be suitable. A veneer is a thin custom-made porcelain cover, which is bonded to the front of the teeth or tooth. They can be colour-matched, so they look natural and match your existing teeth.

Composite Bonding Composite bonding can be a quick and minimally invasive solution to achieve a beautiful smile at a relatively low cost. It is a cosmetic dentistry technique whereby resin is shaped and moulded on to your teeth to give the appearance of a straighter, whiter smile. It can be used for chipped teeth, gapped teeth and staining of teeth and fillings. Unlike dental veneers, which need to be placed in several visits, composite bonding is usually completed in one visit to your dentist.

Smile Makeover and Free Consultations If you would like to change your smile for the better but you’re not sure where to start, you could have a smile makeover appointment. All the dental options will be gone through clearly and your dentist can let you know about all the latest techniques to achieve the smile you have always dreamed of.

FREE consultations are on offer, for a limited time, for all patients interested in private dental treatments, such as dental implants, Smilelign invisible braces and teeth whitening. Why not call the practice or book a free dental consultation today.

If you have a dental emergency in London, Crystal Dental Care is available to help.

Emergency Dental Care in London If there is a dental emergency, it can be very worrying. You may struggle to find a place to see you straight away and often that immediate access to a dentist is vital, especially if you are trying to save a lost tooth for example. If you have a dental emergency in London, Crystal Dental Care is available to help and provide genuine 24 hour emergency dental care

Broken Tooth A broken tooth can not only be painful, but it also needs to be addressed quickly. Teeth can break for many reasons, most of the more common reasons include, trauma, dental decay, and biting on hard foods or trying to open things with teeth.

Trauma – can involve anything from falling over, being hit with something, a sports injury, or an accident, such as falling off your bike etc.

Dental decay – it is important to brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes each time and you should also floss at least once a day. Even if your oral health habits are good, there are times when you can get dental decay. You could have weakened enamel for a number of reasons, including genetics. We offer a no judgment appointment, where you will feel comfortable, even if you have not looked after your teeth properly. The emergency dentist in Wood Green will never judge you and are there to help you and relieve any pain you are in.

Biting hard foods – this is such a common occurrence, where a tooth has been damaged from a person biting on some hard foods. Other common problems are when people try to open a bottle or packaging with their teeth. Treatment for a broken tooth is dependent on the severity of the break and how much of the tooth remains. You will need to have a proper, professional assessment at the practice. Most teeth can have treatment to help save them and they will certainly try to do this.

Broken Braces If your braces break, this can cause a lot of problems. Problems with braces usually include:

  • Broken braces (brackets
  • Broken wires
  • Loose bands
  • Loose braces
  • Wires sticking out

It is best to call the emergency dentist on 020 8245 7575 as you may need to visit the dentist straight away. This is particularly true if the broken or loose brace is causing trauma to your cheeks, gums, or tongue. If your problem with your braces occurred due to an injury, such as a blow to the mouth, you should seek help immediately.

Broken Dentures Dentures can break for a number of reasons. It could be:

  • General wear and tear
  • Ill-fitting dentures
  • Dentures which have become loose over time
  • Dropping the dentures accidentally

Most dentures are able to be repaired. You would need to bring as much of the denture to the dentist. Sometimes, the dentist can fix the dentures at the practice on the spot. However, in some cases, the denture may need to be sent to a laboratory to be repaired. This can take several hours. It is not a good idea to try and repair the dentures yourself with superglue, for example, as this can cause greater damage and more cost to the patient in the long run. As well as making the dentures uncomfortable for the wearer.

The NHS offers some tips and advice about emergency dentists, which is worth a read, and please do call 07436 809 977 in a dental emergency in London and our team will ensure they help you as much as possible. The service is available 365 days of the year, including bank holidays and the Christmas period.

Skin Southwest creates tailor-made packages for its clients as they understand that every person is an individual, with individual concerns about their skin or appearance.

Skin Southwest creates tailor-made packages for its clients as they understand that every person is an individual, with individual concerns about their skin or appearance. It is important to them that the client feels completely comfortable throughout the whole process, from initial consultation through to the end of their aesthetic journey, with the facial aesthetics clinic in Exeter.

Skin Analysis

The clinic can offer analysis of the skin, which gives you a breakdown of your skin on a deeper level. The aesthetician uses the Skin Observ 360 machine, this measures the sub skin conditions. The ground-breaking technology, Skin Observ, analyses the skin and it means products and treatments can be tailor-made for what is best for the patient’s individual skin and fully meet their skin’s requirements.

Rejuvalift

Skin Southwest in Exeter usually recommends a combined approach for complete facial rejuvenation. This approach is suitable for both men and women to achieve natural results. Firstly, it will help defy the signs of aging by repositioning the soft facial tissues with Silhouette Soft threads. Secondly, this can be combined by adding Ellanse collagen stimulating fillers, which both lifts the face and adds volume. The threads will also tighten the jawline and will add volume as well as tightening the look of the jawline.

The results of this combined approach can last around 12 -15 months. The Ellanse and Silhouette Soft products produce natural type 1 collagen over a period of time, so a great advantage of this is that the results will improve even more over the months following the procedure.

Perfect Peel A revolutionary peel that can transform skin into looking younger, healthier, and clearer is known as the Perfect Peel. It founds itself on a key ingredient called Glutathione, which is the ultimate antioxidant. It penetrates deep into the cellular level of the skin to combat oxidant damage and can also help alleviate wrinkles. Glutathione can also lighten dark skin pigmentations.

Following the Perfect Peel, you will be given an individual home treatment pack. The pack includes a lovely vitamin C moisturiser and some retinol wipes, which will assist in the peeling process and enhance your results. Some of the benefits of Perfect Peel are:

  • Improve the texture and tone of the skin
  • Reduce sun damage and age spots
  • Reduce visible pores
  • Soften fine lines and wrinkles
  • Can lighten and brighten skin
  • Improve acne scars and Melasma
  • Stimulates collagen growth, which can lead to firmer skin
  • Slow down the aging process and help to prevent wrinkles

If you are interested in any of the many treatments available at Skin Southwest, give the friendly team a call. For a skin analysis appointment, please call 01392 426 285. Award-winning dentistry in Bexleyheath

Crook Log Dental Practice is an award-winning dental practice in Bexleyheath. A finalist for ‘Best Practice’ at The Dentistry Awards, Crook Log Dental Practice offers a full range of top end dental treatments as well as dental care for the whole family

The dentist in Bexleyheath is conveniently situated a short walk from the train station and free parking is available to all patients. The practice provides a welcoming and relaxed environment. This is in part to the modernised interior but largely to do with the wonderful team who do their utmost to make every visit a positive experience for the patient. Whether it is a simple check-up, hygienist appointment, or a long-term treatment over several months, you will be treated with respect and kindness and will always be fully informed at every step of your dental experience.

Crook Log Dental Practice staff make it their business to keep abreast of all the latest technological advances and new treatments available within the dentistry world. They carry out regular training and attend courses to keep them up to date and at the top of their game.

The practice offers a whole host of dental treatments under one roof and modern dentistry techniques mean that most dental issues can be resolved. If you have missing teeth, for example, it can really knock your confidence. Fear not, you are not alone. It is thought that almost three quarters of Brits don’t have a full set of natural teeth and 6 % have none left at all! Dental implants are a long-lasting solution to missing teeth.

Dental implants   With dental implants, small titanium screws are placed in the jawbone. These act as a tooth root for the crown, bridge, or denture to be fixed on. The dental implant treatment usually has two stages. The initial phase when the implant is placed in the jaw and then the second part, once the jaw has healed, usually around 3 months, when the implant is attached.

One of the main benefits of dental implants is the fact that they are as strong as your natural teeth. This means you can eat, chew, and speak with confidence. You are able to eat your favourite foods and your smile will be complete again. The implants can last for many years, if not a lifetime, if well looked after. You can brush and care for your new implant as usual.

The costs of dental implants is sometimes cited as a reason to deter people from having dental implants. However, Crook Log Dental Practice has 0% finance options available for up to 18 months or a low interest finance option for up to three years. The Mind The Gap dental implants are available from only £69 per month.

For further information, you can visit the website or look at the Crook Log Dental Practice Facebook Page.

Busting dental myths

In an age of social media, we are bombarded with information about what is good for us and what isn’t.  When it comes to dental health, at The Edge Dental the best advice is to listen to your dentist on how to ensure your teeth and gums stay healthy.  Here are some dental myths explained:

  • Does whitening damage my teeth?
  • Teeth whitening, when carried out safely by a qualified dental practitioner, is completely safe.  Teeth whitening is only carried out when your teeth and gums are healthy, and so at The Edge Dental, we always carry out a full checkup before any tooth whitening.  Did you know that it is now illegal for anyone other than a dental professional to carry out tooth whitening? If you would like further information on Premium tooth whitening, you can visit the dentist in Alderley Edge. The team can explain all the options available to you.
  • Surely, I’m too old for braces?
  • You will be surprised to know that there is no upper age limit to straighten your teeth with braces.  As long as your teeth and gums are healthy, anyone can have braces to straighten crooked teeth.  Modern techniques such as cosmetic ceramic fixed braces and invisible braces such as Invisalign are a great way to achieve a smile you have wanted for years! If you want more information about teeth straightening you can visit the NHS Orthodontics page for all the information you need on braces.
  • Diet drinks are better for my teeth than full fat drinks?
  • Diet fizzy drinks may contain less sugar and so seem like a good alternative, but in fact, the acid in these drinks can cause significant enamel erosion or wear to your teeth.  This may lead to dental sensitivity and dental decay. You can find out more about the effect of fizzy drinks on your teeth from Colgate.

If you are interested in becoming a new patient at a dental surgery that really cares about your teeth and wellbeing, then visit The Edge Dental in Alderley Edge.  You will be treated with the respect and given the care that would be provided to their own loved ones. You really couldn’t be in safer hands!

Teeth straightening options in Brighton and Hove.

Six Month Smiles

This tooth straightening system hailing from the US has become more popular with patients in the UK of late and for very good reason. The system uses clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires, to move the teeth gently and accurately into position.  The barely visible teeth straightening option is much less noticeable than conventional braces.

They also work considerably faster than traditional braces. Patients are seeing great results in as little time as six months (hence the name!) as opposed to conventional braces, which can take around 2 years, depending on how much the teeth require moving.

There is the option to see the results of your teeth straightening system before the treatment even starts. This is by using the smile simulator software, available at Twenty One Dental in Brighton & Hove. You can book a free consultation at the practice to see what your smile would look like.

Invisalign   Invisalign is a great way to fix crooked, overlapping, or overcrowded teeth in a very discreet way. A series of translucent plastic aligners are worn and changed every two weeks until the teeth have moved into the correct place. Treatment times vary, depending on how much the teeth need to move, but it usually takes around 6 months to 18 months.

One of the great things about Invisalign is that you can remove the aligner easily for eating and drinking and for maintaining great oral hygiene practices, such as flossing. You can still eat the foods you enjoy, without the fear of getting food trapped in brackets, which can occur with traditional braces.

Using advanced 3D technology, which produces computer images, the Invisalign software plans your treatment from start to finish. You can view your teeth from their initial position to the position that your teeth will be in at the end of treatment. This is great to see how you will look with your new straighter teeth.

Twenty One Dental are offering a Free Invisalign Consultation if you want to see how your teeth would look BEFORE you decide whether to have the treatment. If you have any general questions about your teeth and want to improve your smile, please contact the friendly team on 01273 202 102 and they will be able to assist you.

A series of clear, very thin plastic aligners are created for the patient, which gently, yet effectively, move the teeth to the desired final position. The aligners are worn for at least 22 hours per day and they are changed every two weeks.

The aligners are made to fit snugly over your teeth, which will help them to feel comfortable and have a minimal effect on your ability to talk.

There are no metal parts and the aligners are virtually impossible to see when the patient is wearing them. The plastic is resistant to staining and odour, so you can feel confident that the aligners will not discolour over time and they will remain attractive and hygienic.

Invisalign uses cutting edge 3D technology called Clincheck. This system allows the practice to map out how the teeth straightening will take effect. A model can be produced on a screen and it allows the dentist and the patient to see the teeth straightening process and even what the teeth will look like after the treatment has been completed.

The length of treatment time can vary from person to person, depending on what needs to be achieved, but most treatments are complete within 12 to 18 months. After treatment is completed, a retainer should be worn to stop the teeth from moving back to their original position.

  • Provide the support needed for a denture making it secure and more comfortable
  • Replace one or more teeth without affecting nearby teeth

What is a dental implant?

A titanium screw is placed in the jaw to replace the root of a tooth and once it is established and bonded with the surrounding bone and tissue. A crown is then added which looks just like a natural tooth. Placing an implant is often easier than taking a tooth our according to the Oral Health Foundation. The procedure is usually carried out with a local anaesthetic but if you are nervous or if the case is complicated you could be given a sedative.
